8. B-Grip Evo Kit $59.99

B-Grip has created a genius solution to the neck strain that can be caused by wearing a neck strap attached to a camera. The B-Grip Evo attaches to a belt and allows you to transport your camera hands free, without the swinging and jostling that normal camera straps permit. For extra stability, you can also use your own straps. The quick-release system is compatible with most standard DIN 4503-2 tripod heads.

7. Giottos VGR Tripod/Monopod with Ballhead $309.99

Inspired by the artistic and scientific balance of Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Giottos VGR tripods offer the kind of proportion and support you would expect from a tripod designed according to the Golden Ratio. Historically, the Golden Ratio has been thought to yield a structure that is considered both aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound, and those same terms would apply perfectly to the Giottos classic line of aluminum and carbon fiber tripods.

This Giottos Tripod boldly goes forth exploring a new frontier that any photographer will cheer–designing a solid professional tripod that folds down to a manageable size. This aluminum support will extend to 6.1′, but its minimum working height is only 11.2″, and it folds down to 16.6″. Although it weighs just 3.3 lbs, it can support up to 8.8 lbs. And if you thought it couldn’t get any more versatile, one of the legs can also become a 62.8″ monopod! The included MH5310-655C ballhead with quick-release has bubble levels and is Arca-compatible.

6. Cokin Pure Harmonie Filters From $55.95

Why fret over bulky screw in filters that can vignette your wide-angle shots? Cokin has manufactured a new set of screw-in filters designed to be as thin and light as possible. The UV filter is only 3.3 mm thin and weighs in at a mere 10 grams making it almost invisible once fastened to the lens.  Available as UV (ultraviolet), CPL (circular polarising), or ND X (variable neutral density) and ranging in size from 37mm to 95mm, Pure Harmonie filters are an indispensable addition to any camera bag.

5. Cokin Nuances ND 1024 Special Edition Kit $421.50

NUANCES filters redefine what neutrality means when talking about Neutral Density (ND) filters.  Made with Schott mineral glass and coated with a newly developed nano-metallic alloy, Nuances filters are dedicated to long exposure outdoor photography or depth of field reduction, especially in filmmaking. The strongest density ND1024 filter allows a 10 f-stops reduction. It quite literally catches the light to create surreal images without color cast.

To celebrate the superiority of this filter, Cokin has made it available in a Limited Edition Kit for Z-PRO Series (L) only.  The kit includes the ND1024 filter, Z-PRO (L) filter holder, 4 adapter rings; 67, 72, 77 & 82mm and a soft filter case.

4. Gigapan Epic $319.00

Developed in conjunction with NASA and Carnegie Mellon, the Gigapan Epic series of robotic camera mounts enables users to capture breathtaking high-definition panoramas with just a few clicks of a button. Using technology pioneered by the Mars Rover Program, the GigaPan Epic Series is capable of taking hundreds, even thousands of pictures that can then be easily combined within the Gigapan Stitch Software. The Gigapan Epic model is designed to support point-and-shoot cameras and is a brilliant gift to any photographer, whether amateur or professional.

After you’re done shooting, you can easily wrap the Splat tripod around your camera to secure it in a tight and protective grip without being too bulky to go right back in your camera bag. triggertrap feature
1. Triggertrap Mobile Dongle Kit $37.00

Speaking as the writer of this blog, I’m here to tell you that if you’re a photographer, you REALLY need Triggertrap in your life.

A few months ago, I purchased a Triggertrap mobile dongle for my Rebel T3i (don’t worry, we sell mobile dongles for over 300 different cameras). As soon as it was in my hands, I began experimenting with this cool little piece of technology. The Triggertrap system allows you to connect your smart device to your camera to act as an intervalometer. I had been doing my research, but I was still blown away by the vast number of applications Triggertrap has.

The app, which you can download for free from the iOS or Android App Store, has twenty (!!!) different modes you can use to trigger your camera. From simple things like shutter release and time lapse triggering, to fancier stuff like utilizing the camera, microphone, accelerometer, and GPS (not all at once) in different triggering modes, this thing does it all and so much more. The possibilities are endless! And it’s so easy, your cat could do it! I would tell you more of the cool things you can do with Triggertrap, but that would take away the surprise when you get one for yourself (or get one for your holiday giftee)!

So there you have it, folks! Our favorite products to make the perfect holiday gift for the photographer in your life. Or, you know, a nice little treat for yourself!

Happy holidays and happy shopping!
