THE CACTUS V5 IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR A LOW-COST BUT RELIABLE STUDIO OR HOT SHOE FLASH TRIGGER

dicflawftv5d-2.jpgWith a retail price of only $45.00 each or $75.00 for a set of two, the Cactus V5 is the perfect choice for photographers needing a basic, no-frills but reliable flash trigger system. That said, “basic” in this case does not mean low-tech!

The re-engineered and re-designed Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V5 (Cactus V5), like its predecessors, remains powerful and reliable, and is ideal for photography of any kind. It sports a new transceiver design and powered by 2 AAA 1.5V batteries. Each Cactus V5 unit can serve as either a wireless flash transmitter or wireless flash receiver. Different transmitter/receiver combinations are now possible, giving photographers unparalleled flexibility and control over their flash setups.

Frequency Self-Tune (FST), a new and groundbreaking feature, enables Cactus V5 to automatically tune itself to its last working frequency when exposed to extreme weather conditions such as a sudden and large temperature change. Not seen in any other solution on the market, FST effectively minimizes “no fires”. Multi-Channel Triggering, another new feature, allows simultaneous triggering of up to four (4) sets of light sources, all controlled through one transmitting unit and camera. This is very useful in situations where multiple sets of flashes normally set to different channels need to be set off together for one or a series of shots.

Other improvements in Cactus V5 include support for any maximum sync speed supported by a camera up to 1/1000s, working frequency of 2.4GHz, effective range up to 100 meters, implementation of a low battery indicator and 16-channel rotary dial for channel selection, and dual hot shoe design to allow concurrent firing of an on-camera flash. Together with the provided PC Sync and 3.5mm cables and 6.25mm plug adapter, photographers may use Cactus V5 with most portable flashes and studio strobes with trigger voltage up to 300V. Each Cactus V5 unit is manufactured using RoHS compliant.

PRESS RELEASE: CACTUS DISTRIBUTOR

OMEGABRANDESS SELECTED AS EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR FOR CACTUS BRAND FLASH TRIGGERS AND LIGHTING EQUIPMENT IN THE U.S.

Hampstead, Maryland – December 26, 2017 – OmegaBrandess is pleased to announce they have been chosen to be the exclusive distributor for Cactus lighting product in the United States.  Cactus manufactures unique products for flash photography, several of which feature cross-brand compatibility.

The Cactus V6 II and V6IIs for Sony are the World’s First wireless flash triggers that support cross-brand wireless HSS (High-speed Sync) and cross-brand TTL (Through The Lens automatic flash exposure) and can control the power output and zoom angle of Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and Sigma system flashes all at the same time.1

The need for matching flashes with the same camera system for on and off-camera TTL flash photography is over – TTL without boundaries.  The first wave of firmware releases has been for Fujifilm, Sony and Sigma. In the last two months Cactus has added Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic.  Canon and Nikon will follow in January and February as they complete system integration on the V6 II/V6IIs.

Also available is the Wireless Flash RF60X, a portable flash with a built-in wireless transceiver that supports high-speed sync / FP mode, AF-assist and an exclusive Cooling Mode.  The built-in transceiver transforms the flash into the perfect tool for off-camera flash photography as it gives you the ability to wirelessly control its power output and zoom level.  Moreover, when paired with the Cactus V6II or V6IIs for Sony, it even gives you high-speed sync on your off-camera flash!  You no longer need a TTL flash to support high-speed sync. The RF60X has the ability to sync with your camera above x-sync when it is triggered by the V6II/V6IIs. That makes the RF60X a HSS flash for Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and Sony camera systems – one flash for all.

Other products now distributed by OmegaBrandess include the V6 and V5 transceivers and the LV5 Laser Trigger.

The Cactus V6 is the World’s First wireless flash trigger that works ON ANY CAMERA (with a standard hot shoe or PC Sync port) to control power output, wirelessly, of Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic’s system flashes ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

The re-engineered and re-designed Cactus Wireless Flash Transceiver V5, like its predecessors, remains powerful and reliable, and is ideal for photography of any kind. It sports a new transceiver design and, powered by 2 AAA 1.5V batteries, each Cactus V5 unit can serve as either a wireless flash transmitter or wireless flash receiver. Different transmitter/receiver combinations are now possible, giving photographers unparalleled flexibility and control over their strobe setups, at an incredibly low price.

Cactus LV5 is a laser trigger that allows you to do high speed photography and wildlife camera traps. Whether you are interested in capturing beautiful water droplets, facial expressions of athletes at the finish line from multiple angles, or wildlife movements caught in the act, the LV5 Laser Trigger can create unforgettable images with ease.

¹ With the exception of Pentax and Sony system flashes due to special timing requirements so it must be paired with a Pentax or Sony camera in order to support HSS/TTL

Press Release: Cokin & OmegaBrandess…

Cokin introduces EVO 95mm and 105mm CPL Filters

Hampstead, MD—August 25, 2017—Cokin and OmegaBrandess are very excited to introduce the EVO line of Schott Glass, low profile Circular Polarizer filters designed to work with EVO filter holders.

EVO CPL filters are available in 95mm and 105 mm sizes.  At only 7.5mm thick, they are very low profile to reduce the possibilities of vignetting, while still maintaining threads on the front side for filter stacking.

The highly resistant tempered glass is German B270 Schott and the rings are aluminum construction with knurled grip.  This high quality glass is made even better with the application of EverClear 5 sixteen-layer multi-coating on both sides of the filters.  This results in extremely high light transmission and reduced reflections.  Light loss is only 45% or approximately 1 f-stop, about half that of the typical CPL filter.

While the EVO CPL filters are an ideal choice for any lens with a 95mm or 105mm filter thread, they are designed to mate with the recently announced EVO Aluminum Filter Holders that provide a threaded front plate together with 2 slots for Cokin’s M (P) size or L (Z) size filters.  These holders permit the combined use of the EVO CPL with any of the company’s graduated ND filters including the vaunted Nuances Schott Glass line.

EVO C PL Case
Protective Case

The filters come housed in a hinged hard, round black case for protection and storage.

Also announced is a new EVO Wallet M.  Made of EVA, the new EVO Wallet M carries your CREATIVE Filter System safely.  Custom cut foam protects the M-sized (P) EVO Filter Holder which is housed in a separate compartment.  Contained in the lid is a filter pouch capable of storing up to six CREATIVE or NUANCES filters with a storage space for adapter rings behind.  Larger size to follow.

About Cokin

Named after its founder Jean Coquin, a famous French photographer of the 70’s, Cokin is the inventor of the innovative Creative Filters System (adaptor ring + filter-holder + filters), the most popular filter system in the world.
